The anticipated wage for this position is $120,000-160,000 annually.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Regional Marketing Director for North America and Global DTC is uniquely positioned to find creative ways to share all the best parts of our Brand’s core values and heritage with a market that has a tremendous opportunity for growth in Brand Awareness, and sales.  

Working with talented teams locally and Globally, this role leads the NA marking team to develop and implement campaigns and create a growing community of loyal customers who are as passionate about spending time in nature and sustainability as we are.  Through talented storytelling, we will draw like-minded people together in nature and create positive momentum for the future.

This full-time, exempt position is based out of our offices in Louisville, CO, and reports to Fjällräven’s CEO of the Americas.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Regional Marketing (North America):

  • Lead the North American (NA) Regional Marketing team to design and implement consistent, innovative, and memorable Brand experiences that create real relevancy and emotional connection with users' lives and outdoor communities
  • Own the development and execution of the regional NA marketing calendar. Ensure programs and activations are integrated with the global calendar and with regional/local sales needs
  • Identify regional opportunities and needs from a customer (WHS) and user perspective and ensure they are reflected within the calendars and programs
  • Act as the regional expert for NA within the global Marketing leadership team. Deliver market insights and ensure that they are understood and integrated into the deliverables of the wider team
  • Deliver a step change together with your team in the way how we leverage digital within global and Regional Marketing teams to deliver best-in-class experiences
  • Work with the Regional Marketing team to brief in Market specific activations to relevant teams, sign off creatives, and review performance against objectives
  • Support the Brand Experience team to bring activations to life in the NA markets. Manage local media buying where necessary
  • Set marketing objectives at a region and Market level e.g. growth of key accounts, growth of Brand sales or communities in different countries

Global Retail:

  • Develop the Fjällräven brand retail strategy defining a clear purpose for our stores (e.g. brand building, sales focused…) across different markets globally and store formats
  • Lead our approach for developing best practices in how we market products and create brand experiences through our Fjällräven-owned stores and partner-operated stores (including Frilufts shop-in-shops)
  • Continue our development of omnichannel services in North America and how these services could be extended to Frilufts and partner-operated stores globally, e.g., reserve in-store, order in-store, click & collect, local delivery, and returns.
  • Develop retail store brand & user experiences working closely with sales markets (North America in particular), covering different formats and locations
  • Manage store marketing requirements (retail design, product marketing, wider store visual merchandising) in North America and own brand stores in EU
  • Develop traffic driving activities to stores e.g. guide events, local advertising etc.

WHO YOU ARE

Education and Experience:

  • You have completed a degree in Marketing, Business, Economics or similar (or equivalent experience)
  • You have worked in brand marketing for at least 10 years; strong preference for multi-market businesses
  • You have at least 5 years of experience leading a team of people for a “multi-market” business
  • You have at least 5 years experience working in marketing roles that support retail stores and wholesale business
  • You have worked on both traditional advertising and digital marketing campaigns
  • You have experience in the textiles industry
  • You have experience driving user-centric experiences

Skills and knowledge:

  • Developing omnichannel marketing strategy – you identify “high impact” marketing to drive store footfall while driving synergies wherever possible. You set achievable and measurable goals to demonstrate impact.
  • Strong market knowledge – understanding of marketing to different North American markets and User groups
  • Developing marketing plans and budgets – experience pulling annual plans & objectives together. Developing financial budgets including media spend; “commercial thinker”
  • Strong organizational skills to co-ordinate planning across multiple teams and sales markets
  • Strong analytical skills to set relevant KPIs and be able to measure performance; you are data-led in decision-making
  • Stakeholder management skills – ability to listen to, interpret, and influence key stakeholders to build consensus around marketing plans
  • People management skills – ability to manage teams of people and get the most from their skills
  • Fluent in English
