JOB SUMMARY
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Records Management Specialist/Technician to join our team for the Florida Ecological Services Office project. The ideal candidate will support our Records Manager in executing the records management plan, focusing on reviewing, sorting, and preparing records for disposal or retention in accordance with the USFWS Disposition Manual and National Archives and Records Administration guidelines.
MAIN OBJECTIVES
- Assist in the review, sorting, and organization of approximately 220 boxes and file cabinets of records.
- Support compliance with the USFWS Disposition Manual and National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) guidelines.
- Help develop and maintain records management systems and procedures.
- Collaborate closely with the Records Manager to complete tasks efficiently and effectively.
SCHEDULE OF WORK
- Full-time position, Monday to Friday. Flexibility in hours is required based on project needs.
PLACE OF PERFORMANCE
- On-site at the Florida Ecological Services Office, with potential flexibility for remote work as the project permits.
PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE
- The contract duration is from March 1, 2024, to May 1, 2024. Immediate start upon award with completion expected within the contract timeframe.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate degree or higher in Library Science, Information Management, or related field; relevant experience may substitute for education.
- 1-3 years of experience in records management or a similar role, with a focus on organizing and managing physical records.
- Familiarity with records management guidelines, especially the USFWS Disposition Manual and NARA guidelines, is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively under deadlines.
