Position Overview: The Receiver is responsible for receiving BRM orders, tracking inventory, and loading and unloading of trucks for inbound and outbound shipment of orders. These tasks require extensive use of forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment. Accuracy and attention to detail are essential in this position.
Essential Job Functions:
- Receives orders in an accurate and timely manner.
- Unloads orders safely without damage to product or truck/vehicle.
- Unloads trucks in fewer than 3 hours with assistance.
- Keeps warehouse neat and organized, as necessary.
- Escalates errors quickly to supervisor.
- Complies with all company policies and procedures and operates all equipment in a safe and food-safe manner.
- Complies with Bob’s Red Mill food safety policies and procedures including adherence to FDA regulations and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Responsible for reporting food safety and quality concerns to Supervisors and/or Department Manager.
- Performs other tasks and duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- This position reports to the Warehouse Manager.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to perform basic mathematical functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Possesses good communication skills both written and orally.
- Ability to work well individually and as a member of a team.
- Possesses a good understanding of equipment and would be considered mechanically inclined.
- Must become forklift certified and be able to demonstrate safe forklift operation and proficiency.
- Demonstrates Respect, Teamwork, Accountability, and Determination.
- Ability to work in an environment where exposure to potential food allergens is or may be present.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1-3 years of previous experience in the food production industry, warehouse, order selecting, and/or experience as a forklift operator preferred.
- Experience with RF Scanner preferred.
Physical Demands:
- Frequently requires the ability to lift and stack products weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Position may require standing for long periods of time.
- Position requires the ability to work at a fast pace in a warehouse environment.
Work Environment:
- The primary work environment for this position is within the warehouse department. There are no adverse conditions associated with this position.
