Summary
Nexus Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is looking to recruit a Summer Intern to participate in a growing Research and Development (R&D) team in Lincolnshire, IL.
The intern will work with a mentor in R&D team and will support formulation development for our Injectable drug products. Formulation development may include ordering of excipients and approved marketed drug products, drafting study plans for R&D studies, initiating change controls for revising controlled documents, etc. The intern will also work in the laboratory to support product development and regulatory submissions. At the end of internship, intern will give a presentation of the accomplished work to the team.
Responsibilities:
- Support R&D team in the formulation development and/or optimization of injectable drugs
- Prepare and execute R&D study plans and perform physical characterization of lab batches
- Prepare study reports and results summary of testing
- Draft specifications of excipients, drug substance and finished product
- Support revisions of controlled documents via change controls
- Clear (legible), accurate, and complete documentation of laboratory activities on approved worksheets and laboratory notebooks
- Adhere to cGMP/cGLP regulations
- Maintain compliance with required training
- Follow the procedures as outlined in SOPs/test methods
- Perform other lab duties as assigned
Skills and Abilities:
- Dosage form design/Drug delivery knowledge
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to perform assigned tasks and meet timelines
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
Education and Experience:
- Working towards or completed a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Science or a related field
Travel Requirements:
- No travel required
Physical Requirements:
Regular (0% - 25%) exertion including standing/walking for extended periods of time, lifting/carrying more than 15 and up to 25 pounds. At times low physical effort includes sitting, and operating computers or other small equipment.
