PURPOSE
The Purpose of a Quality Technician is to Perform quality audits as required on parts, machinery, processes and Quality related activities including but not limited to training on processes and work instructions. Developing skills to implement initiatives, problem solving techniques and work instruction structured work environments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
●Follow Karcher quality assurance policies and procedures.
●Develop and Maintain metrics to evaluate progress toward zero errors in shipments.
●Perform daily audits based on designated area
●Collect failure report information and process non-conformance reports. Reports all non-conformances to the Quality Supervisor and the Area Supervisor to initiate corrective actions.
●Computer Skilled, use of a personal computer and software packages such as Microsoft Office Suite.
●Involved in other quality system related activities, including but not limited to, customer complaint investigations and/or IQR-WMS system.
●Maintain excellent attendance per scheduled work hours. Participate in quality projects assigned by supervisor, including sorts/reworks as needed for Quality non conformances.
●Work overtime when requested
● Perform on the job training for all new and current team members using established work instructions
● Become proficient in multiple processes with the ability to train on the process
● Ability to present materials in multiple ways to help team members understand, especially for employees for whom English is their second language
● Perform work functions in accordance with company safety regulations, quality guidelines, and productivity standards. Report any unsafe conditions or incidents to the appropriate member of management
● Exhibit and practice positive communications and team-building skills with trainees to ensure a consistently professional environment
● Other reasonably duties as assigned
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
●Helps in other areas of the department when time allows.
●Keeps the area neat, clean and orderly.
●Will perform any and/or all listed proficiencies and duties in Warehouse 1 & 3.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Daily priorities are established by the supervisor, but the employee is expected to evaluate and respond to new situations which require immediate attention. Work is frequently checked while in progress and end results are reviewed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
● High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Experience
● At least 2 years of warehouse experience is necessary
●Quality/Inspection experience is preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
●Basic computer skills.
● Must have forklift certification or be able to quickly achieve certification.
●Shall be able to perform any and/or all listed proficiencies and duties in Warehouse 1 & 3.
Language Skills
●Candidate must be able to read, speak, and write clearly in English
● Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
● Ability to add/subtract multiple digit numbers
● Ability to calculate/convert fractions, percentages, decimals
● Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance
Reasoning Ability
● Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
● Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Conditions are that of a normal warehouse environment, which can be extremely hot or cold based on outside weather conditions. Noise levels are consistent with forklift traffic.
