Overview
The Quality Food Safety (QFS) Lab Technician provides real-time technical support to the Operations Teams and other support staff assigned. The individual is responsible for providing Operations Teams and Supervisors with the necessary information to produce products that meet PCBs Food Safety and quality standards at the lowest cost in a timely manner. The individual plays a key role in assisting in the identification, investigation, and follow up activities of PCB continuous improvement program. Support, implement, and maintain Food Safety practices as required through SQF. Will be responsible for completing job duties in a manner that supports all plant safety, Food Safety, quality, and environmental practices.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
SKILLS NEEDED
- Must possess excellent organizational and problem solving skills, the ability to work with a PC and have demonstrated math/statistical computation skills.
- Knowledge of SPC; the ability to work safely with chemicals, as well as, in and around equipment Ability to compile, analyze and present collected data in summary form as well as being capable of performing a variety of tests.
- Ability to communicate technical, scientific, and regulatory information, both written and verbally.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to make presentations, facilitate meetings, probe for root cause, and provide training to various groups within the organization and have knowledge of quality problem solving tools.
- Ability to read, write and communicate in the English language.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
- Education: 4 years college degree or equivalent experience in chemistry, microbiology, math, statistics or food science preferred
- Experience:
- 1-3 years food production experience preferred but will consider new graduates
- Prior knowledge of manufacturing processes, GMP's, Food Safety, GLP’s, statistics and lab techniques preferred.
- Experience in Food Systems, audit experience, with PCQI certification preferred.
SHIFT, SALARY, BENEFITS
- 6pm-6am (this is a 2,3,3,2 rotating shift)
- Pay is commensurate with experience
