Location: Remote w/ requirement to travel for business needs
Summary of Role:
This position is responsible for investigating, planning, and implementing improvements in and/or additions to current products and manufacturing processes that directly affects safety, quality, and productivity with the result of producing a better-quality product more efficiently. In this role, you will provide technical support, operations experience, continuous improvement, and project management skills to ensure safe, efficient, and low-cost plant operations and support the commercialization of new products and processes for the related business.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Project Teams, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, R&D, and Supply Chain to ensure seamless implementation of process requirements and specifications. Ensure all components and process systems can produce and sustaining safe, stable, and fit for consumption products.
- Use appropriate statistical methods to define process capability on existing or new equipment for existing and new products to identify manufacturing and/or process gaps.
- Communicate and partner with the commercial group on a regular basis to ensure operations exceed expectations.
- Applies sound, systematic problem-solving methodologies in identifying, prioritizing, communicating, and resolving quality issues.
- Review and approve product and process qualification and validation and other change control related documentation.
- Develop product/process assurance plans, which include all required elements. Identify and implement effective process control systems to support the development, qualification, and on-going manufacturing of products to meet or exceed internal and external requirements.
- Generate internal quality documentation such as quality plans, standard operating procedures, and inspection procedures.
- Participate in Product Reviews and Benchmarking meetings. Identify non-conformance trends and develop technical investigation plans. Investigates and analyze customer/internal complaints.
- Performs analytical measurements and experiments to qualify or resolve product and process issues.
- Enhance overall safety, quality, and productivity by eliminating defects, identifying, and executing loss saving initiatives, and building capability in the operating teams.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- B.S. Technical or Science degree
- 3 - 5 years of experience
- Proven ability to manage by influence.
- Demonstrated credibility within manufacturing/operations environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and manage risk in an environment with ambiguity.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in a variety of food processing and packaging technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to identify critical data and distill into business-focused technical recommendations.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, knowledge of troubleshooting tools and techniques.
- Prefer certification as a CQA, CQE, or CQM, and member of the ASQ.
Compensation and Benefits:
- $70,000-$85,000 (commensurate with experience and location).
