Job Summary:
DENSO is looking for a Quality Engineer 1 in their Athens, TN location. The Quality Engineering Specialist will support processes in Quality Engineering and customer interactions.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Customer and Internal Related Quality Engineering
- Responsible for maintaining quality of product produced for our customer per DENSO quality standards
- Monitoring, development, and systems management for internal quality products
- Support problem investigation both internally and at our customers
- Provide engineering support to inspection departments
- Support customer and internal cross functional groups for overall quality improvement activities
- Develop detailed test plans to evaluate change-points in our processes
- Understand, document, and improve internal processes
- Assist in judging parts against established visual/functional standards
- Learn internal processes to troubleshoot defects
- Must be able to recognize quality trends and act accordingly
- Obtain and maintain open communication with customers and internally within DENSO worldwide to accurately/promptly communicate quality issues for quick resolution
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related degree.
- 0-3 years engineering experience, or co-op equivalent, in a manufacturing, quality, or related field
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
- Skilled in Microsoft Office applications
- Willing/able to travel domestically (less than 1 time per month) and internationally (less than 1 time per year)
- Self-motivated, detail oriented, and comfortable in a fast paced work environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Direct work with customers and internal departments
- Experience leading peer-team projects
- Experience in a multi-cultural environment
- Familiar with automotive industry quality systems and requirements: Toyota, Ford, GM, Honda and IATF 16949
Salary:
- $66,400 - $82,800
