Work Arrangement: ​​

This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Springhill Engine Plant on a full-time basis.

Travel is expected to Bowling Green Assembly and Bedford Global Propulsion Systems (GPS) as needed.

Position is a 1st shift position. Must be flexible to support all shifts and weekends (work expected overtime as needed).

The Role:

The position of Customer Quality/Reliability Engineer supports operations in a Quality capacity, focusing both on problem resolution and Quality System compliance. The Customer Quality/Reliability Engineer develops timely solutions that minimize overall cost and time to implement while maximizing effectiveness and ensuring product meets specifications. Day to day focus is on working to reduce issues that impact the products and manufacturing to achieve business results. Job is technical in nature.

This position supports the Bedford, Spring Hill Global Propulsion System, and Bowling Green Assembly Plant. However, the selected candidate will work on site in Spring Hill, TN with travel to support Bowling Green Assembly, KY as needed. The Bedford GPS Plant casts and machines engines for Spring Hill and casts structural components for the Corvette for Bowling Green Assembly.

What You’ll Do:

  • Drive problem solving and lead resolution for supplier and customer issues
  • Interact with operations and engineering on part measurement results to part print specifications to assure quality and reliability
  • Ensure effective containment and resolution to identified non-conforming product
  • Build customer relations and communicate emerging issues
  • Coordinate repair, rework, and containment activities for identified quality concerns
  • Support effective adherence to all elements within the Spring Hill and Bowling Green Assembly Quality Systems

Additional Description

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications) ​​

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience in Manufacturing
  • High level of analytical ability where problems are complex
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead diverse cross-functional teams
  • Knowledge of and ability to effectively use computer software as it pertains to quality engineering

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Experience as a Quality Engineer, Supplier Quality Engineer, Process Engineer, Design Engineer and/or Reliability Engineer
  • Good problem solver (Red X experience, Op Ex, Six Sigma, 5 Why, etcetera)
  • Analyze and understand data sets of a technical nature
  • Ability to influence, coach, and teach hourly and salary team members or 3rd party members
  • Machining, body shop, and/or production experience
