Quality Control is responsible for controlling the quality of the production of limestone through inspection of the plant, production materials, and jobsite review as well as conducting routine and special laboratory testing to ensure conformance standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES OF POSITION:
- Performs tests on materials including gradation, material properties, weights, moistures, and other essential tests.
- Review test results to ensure completion and that all required information is properly documented and reported.
- Examine processes used to ensure results have properly utilized data collected and provides unbiased estimate of the conditions being observed.
- Performs special testing/analysis as required and provides feedback, as necessary.
- Maintains a clean work area to include labs, tools, machinery, and vehicles.
- Demonstrates and ensures that all safety procedures and processes are always displayed within the QC department.
- Remains a constant learner; always staying updated on new industry test procedures and information that ensures we maintain our quality standards.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Office; Excel, Outlook, and Word
- 5-10 years lab experience in a construction, aggregates or material testing is required.
- Proven ability to lead and manage others.
- Basic understanding of statistical concepts and the theory and practice of random samplings.
- Clear communication methods; both written and oral. Must effectively communicate both up and down the reporting structure as well as cross-functionally.
- Must adhere to all safety rules and regulations and instill these same practices to the entire QC department.
- Superior analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Self-motivated individual that can lead by example.
- Clean and valid driver’s license.
- Extremely well-organized approach to constant changing working conditions and/or priorities.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
- The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, bend and stoop.
- May occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Must have 20/40 vision, either naturally or with corrective lenses.
- Hearing should be excellent or corrected by audio device.
