A bit about us:
Leading Food Manufacturer is seeking a Quality Control Technician for our growing team in Bardstown, KY.
We offer a 4 day work week - Monday to Thursday (7 am to 5:30 pm)
Description:
This role encompasses a broad range of responsibilities, which may be expanded as deemed necessary by management. All staff members are accountable for reporting any issues related to food safety and quality.
Quality Control and Assurance:
- Develop, implement, and monitor Quality Control standards, processes, and procedures throughout the facility.
- Design methods for inspection, sampling, and testing.
- Monitor raw materials susceptible to pests, especially those stored for extended periods.
- Conduct pH and granulation tests as required or requested by customers.
Documentation and Record Keeping:
- Collaboratively develop and write Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs), and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Maintain logs of facility programs, including Customer Complaint, Non-Conforming Material, and Scale Calibration.
- Review sanitation records for completeness, recurring deficiencies, and trends.
- Conduct microbial testing procedures and monitor results.
Training and Development:
- Develop training materials related to food safety and quality, and conduct training sessions as needed.
- Create basic reporting spreadsheets using Excel and Word.
Process Improvement:
- Monitor and report on process capability, evaluate procedures, and recommend improvements.
- Perform testing of finished products to certify quality and adherence to specifications.
- Issue corrective action requests and assist with problem-solving and root cause analysis in all areas of food safety and quality.
- Suggest methods for improving product quality, design, or manufacturing processes.
Compliance and Auditing:
- Review Noncompliance Records for accuracy and consistency.
- Manage Foreign Material Control Programs and monitor metal detector checks and calibrations.
- Assess pest control programs and documentation.
- Conduct internal audits of food safety programs and systems, coordinate internal audit scheduling, and prepare documentation for third-party audits.
