Job Description
The Quality Control Supervisor plays a pivotal role in manufacturing, production, or service-oriented businesses by overseeing the Quality Control operations to ensure products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and legality, in line with BRC Global Standards. This role involves managing the Quality Control team, implementing BRC standards within quality assurance processes, and ensuring products or services comply with both company and BRC standards. The Quality Control Supervisor with BRC experience is crucial for our company as it aims to achieve and maintain BRC certification.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate activities of the Quality Control department, ensuring efficient operations.
- Develop and maintain the company's Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with BRC standards.
- Oversee the inspection and testing of materials, parts, and products to ensure adherence to established quality standards.
- Direct the analysis of production limitations and problems, working closely with the production team to develop solutions.
- Train, motivate, and evaluate Quality Control staff, ensuring a high level of technical competence.
- Conduct audits, create audit reports, and recommend corrective actions.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as production and procurement, to identify and resolve quality issues.
- Regularly review and update Quality Control procedures and documentation to reflect changes in BRC standards, legislation, and industry best practices.
- Prepare for and manage third-party audits, ensuring continuous compliance and certification.
- Report on Quality Control metrics, audit outcomes, and continuous improvement initiatives to senior management.
Qualifications:
- Solid experience in Quality Control or quality assurance within a BRC-certified manufacturing environment.
- In-depth knowledge of BRC Global Standards and experience managing BRC audits.
- Certified in HACCP and familiar with food safety management systems.
- Strong leadership, team management, and training skills.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
- Proficient in Quality Control software and database management.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Quality Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred, but not required.
- Spanish speak preferred, but not required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in manufacturing environments, which may involve exposure to food production areas with varying temperatures and conditions.
- May require standing, walking, and moving around production facilities for extended periods.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
