Job description

Job Title: Quality Control Specialist

Position Summary:

Car Tech is currently seeking a Quality Control Specialist to assist in the implementation of inspection, testing, and evaluation methods for our products and production equipment. The QC specialist is responsible for testing and assessing parts or products using a variety of techniques. The QC specialist checks that products meet specifications, work as intended, and have no defects. The ideal candidate will be comfortable in a data-driven field and understand how to track products through the entire manufacturing process in order to guarantee that each part (and the resulting final product) is performing at the desired level.

Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to):

· Meet all other requirements as assigned

· Implement specific Quality Control procedures for the result of the metal stamping process

· Develop effective methods for continued product improvement

· Monitor the execution of authorized quality plans and programs guarantee proper method implementation

· Analyze statistical information and keep up to date with relevant information regarding Quality Control

· Ensure vendors continue to supply production lines with high quality parts

· Assist other departments in troubleshooting problems that arise regarding Quality Control

· Prepare clearly written reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing necessary information

· Communicate frequently with both Car Tech customers and suppliers to provide quality-related assistance in the timely identification, containment, and answering quality problems

· Determine current production efficiency and quality by producing statistical reports

· Coordinate deadlines regarding the delivery of products and product parts

· Perform internal investigative checks in order to assess compliance to industry standards for both products and internal quality system

· Provide clear direction to departments that specialize in Quality Control

· Skills and Qualifications:

· 2+ years of job-related experience preferred

· Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access

· Understanding of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)

· Automotive manufacturing experience preferred

· Critical thinking and problem-solving skills

· Familiarity with a fast-paced manufacturing environment

· Ability to initiate the identification of potential quality issues and lead discussions with team members

· Excellent communication skills

· Outstanding organizational and management skills

· Diligent with great attention to detail

· Ability to produce detailed reports and present information to an audience

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Physical demands at times may include safely handling multiple, continuous parts flow in and out of manufacturing operations work areas which requires pushing and pulling of carts. Work environment is climate controlled in most areas.

Education

· Bachelor’s degree in a related field

· Quality engineer, quality auditor, or quality improvement associate certification preferred
(VDA, IATF16949)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
