Position:Quality Control Inspector - RMA

FLSA Status: Full-Time Hourly, Non-Exempt

Department:Quality Control
Reports To: Quality Control Manager

Summary of the Position

The Quality Control Inspector – RMA is responsible for maintaining product quality. This role contributes to an excellent customer experience through completion of daily tasks associated with product returns and calibration.

Essential Functions

  1. Analyze the returned product for defects and causes, coordinating with Engineering groups.
  2. Communicate with Customer Service to obtain and provide additional information around customer returns.
  3. Accurately record test data, using Epicor, Microsoft Office, Outlook, and other computer programs.
  4. Coordinate calibration program, scheduling third party calibrations as well as performing in-house calibration, to support test equipment, fixtures, tooling & gages.
  5. Source and submit requisitions to purchase needed test equipment.
  6. Report findings to Quality Management and Quality Engineering.
  7. Understand customer expectations of and needs for all products.
  8. Prepare data for further analysis, as needed.
  9. Attend Meetings on factory floor.
  10. Educate work force on Quality System requirements through good communication processes.
  11. Support in-process inspection as needed.
  12. Re-box items for restock as needed.
  13. Update QC processes and procedures as directed.
  14. Performs other duties as needed or assigned.

  2. Ability to excel in ambiguous circumstances or situations.
  3. Ability to effectively communicate with multi-functional partners over a wide range of subject areas.
  4. Knowledge of manufacturing environment.

Work Environment/Physical Demands/Travel

This job operates in a warehouse/manufacturing setting where hand tools and parts are used to assemble products, such as pliers, screwdrivers, box cutters, power tools, screws, automatic tape dispensers.

This position must be able to lift 25 pounds at times. Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.

Required Qualifications

  1. A minimum of two years of related experience in Quality Control, or other relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Proven and successful track record working in a similar role.
  2. ISO 9001 or other standards experience (ex. IATF 16949, ISO 17025, VDA).
  3. Experience in Fire, Automotive or Aerospace industry.
  4. Associate degree in technical field.

This is a full-time position, on-site at the manufacturing facility. The weekly hours worked are 40 hours per week. There may be a need for overtime work.
