Overview of Role
In the role of Advanced Manufacturing Technician, you would be located at our Technology Development Center in St. Louis, Missouri working within the Nuclear production area as a Quality Control Inspector.
As an Advanced Manufacturing Technician, you will be reporting to the Engineering Team Leader.
As part of the Quality function, you will support and lead key quality management system and Watlow Business System processes. In addition, you will support engineers to ensure products and services, at a minimum, adhere to applicable customer, regulatory, statutory, Quality Management System, and Watlow Business System requirements.
Working within our constructive culture as the Advanced Manufacturing Technician, you will advance and develop your autonomy, mastery and purpose, through coaching and leadership provided by your team leader.
Your Key Responsibilities
  • Perform inspection and non-destructive testing on pressurizer products and assist Quality Engineer in maintaining pressurizer quality management system
  • Perform tests, inspections, and other evaluations of products and processes based on defined procedures and standards and create procedures and standards for these activities
  • Understand and follow all organization and department safety policies and procedures
  • Read and interpret customer specifications and drawings for moderately complex products
  • Participate in Material Review and Corrective Action Boards
  • Participate in Internal Audits
  • Some interaction with suppliers, customers, and third-party agencies
  • Participate in Problem Solving Activities (PPS, A3, 8D)
  • Ensure the maintenance/upkeep of the sites calibration program and assist in Measurement System Analysis
  • Submit Engineering Change Request or Engineering Change Orders for product design, process, and quality improvements
  • Complete Product Failure Analysis and reporting
  • Provide coaching and feedback to less experienced technicians
  • Take action to eliminate waste (defects, scrap, rework)
  • Identify product and process discrepancies and effectively execute containment of defects
  • Other responsibilities as required

Required Qualifications
  • Well organized and maintains a detail-oriented mindset
  • Work Well within Team Environment
  • Good Written and Verbal Communication Skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Experience in the use of various measurement tools/gauges, electrical equipment, temperature & power controls, temperature sensors, and fluid control devices
  • Demonstrated ability to use basic and some advanced problem-solving tools
  • U.S. Citizen (Non-Dual Citizen)

Desired Qualifications
  • High-school graduate/ GED preferred
  • Preferred two-year degree or technical certificate or related experience (3-5 years)
  • Certifications or experience in Non-Destructive Testing (Liquid Penetrant, Radiography, Visual Testing)
  • Experience with inspection of complex products and developing basic inspection and testing methods
  • Good understanding and application of lean product development tools and methods
  • Auditing Experience
  • Ability to embrace change and be flexible in work assignments and accept re-prioritization when necessary
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma concepts and tools
