GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The job of Inspector was established for the purpose of maintaining quality standards by approving incoming materials, in-process production and finished products.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials;
Approves in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests using calipers, micrometer and pin gages, communicating required adjustments to production supervisor;
Approves finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; returning products for re-work; confirming re-work;
Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste; inputting data into quality database;
Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions; calling for repairs;
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical blue prints;
Accomplishes quality and organization mission by completing related results, as needed.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Manual dexterity and good eyesight are required for inspecting orders
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds required
Must be able to stand for long periods of time
REQUIREMENTS:
Two or more years Inspection experience preferred
Ability to use and read micrometers, calipers, electronic test and other measuring equipment
Ability to read mechanical, electronic drawings and blueprints
Must be detail oriented to keep accurate records and files
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in the use of MS Office (preferred)
Must possess a positive and professional attitude
