Job Description
DEFINITION: Under the supervision of the Executive Director, assume responsibility for training of employees and customers, including but not limited to, General Orientation, Handbook Training, Med Training and CPI Training/Postvention. Also responsible for Quality Assurance of program implementation, Audits/tracking training credentials, Scheduling support, customer meds and customer charts for all counties.
Experience:
· Four years direct support experience with people with behavior challenges, medical involvement, or psychiatric diagnosis.
· Two years of experience coordinating services for people with developmental disabilities (QMRP, IPC, Community Service Coordinator) preferred.
· Three years of experience in a Supervisory position preferred.
Certifications:
· Must have/maintain current CPR/First Aid Certification and current CPI Instructor Certification.
· RBT Certification and Med Training Certification Preferred.
· Must complete General Orientation and Handbook training within 60 days of commencement of employment. Must have valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, valid registration, minimum State requirements regarding auto insurance, insurable driving record, and sign/adhere to the Company Vehicle Policy.

· Must be able to relate positively to individuals, their families/guardians, neighbors, Regional Center representatives and other community members.
· Must be always mature and emotionally stable and act in a professional manner.
· Must possess the belief and attitude that all people with developmental disabilities can be served in their communities.
· Must be capable of using language that portrays people with developmental disabilities in a way other than the typical medical model.
· Must possess the belief that a developmental disability is not an illness.
· Must be emotionally capable of examining oneself and one's own issues with power and control when supporting and acting in the service of other people.
· Must be able to exercise judgment and initiative in working for people.
· Must be punctual, able to meet deadlines and have a good attendance record.
· Must have the ability to communicate in English both verbally and in writing to the individuals served, supervisors and other team members.
· Must be able to effectively organize a variety of work tasks for self and those supervised and complete these in priority order.
· Must be able to effectively prioritize, delegate and follow up with a team of employees.
· Must wear clothing that is appropriate to the occasion and that is not excessively torn or revealing as determined by a board of the employee's peers and customers.
Requirements:PRIMARY DUTIES:
· Under the direction of the Executive Director, and in collaboration with Human Resources, facilitate General Orientation and Handbook training for all new employees.
· Provide all Training to all new/returning employees (if needed for their customer) and re-certify existing employees.
· Provide crisis response and post-vention support when needed.
· Attend monthly Circle Plan Meetings for team building and training.
· Assure that Coordinators and DSPs are trained and capable of providing the individuals served with assistance in all aspects of their daily living and that customers receive supports in all areas needed to live a full active life of their choice.
· Scheduling where required.
· Responsible for monthly Quality Audits to ensure customer charts are complete and updated in a timely fashion by Coordinators and follow-up with all parties to close gaps.
· Responsible for carrying a company issued cell phone and responding to calls within 5 minutes.
· Assure thorough assessments are completed when challenging behaviors emerge.
· Provide immediate on-site response in emergencies.
· Communicate with Regional Center representatives, parents/guardians at a frequency desired by the respective individuals.
· Act as Support Coach/DSP when needed.
· Attend Individual Program Plan and interim meetings as needed.
· Attend monthly management meetings.
· Develop curriculum and provide training to all staff to assure staff are knowledgeable in CPI, behavioral principles, behavioral policy and individual behavior strategies and other behavior related curriculum as needed.
· In consultation with the Executive Director, develop policies that address behavior intervention to assure that Lynn & Darla provides an environment where the least restrictive approaches are used in behavior management.
· Review incident reports for trends and submit monthly report to Executive Director.
· Review and prepare administrative reports and documents, as necessary.
· Attend training and conferences to assure that Lynn & Darla SLS acts as leader in the field.
· Assure that the human and civil rights of persons served are being always respected.
· Adhere to Injury & Illness Prevention Program.
· Assume responsibility for any/all other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
· Assure IHSS is maximized and managed for everyone served and each customer gets their annual IHSS reauthorization.
· Review and prepare administrative reports and documents, as necessary.
· Assure that all new customer referrals are followed up on in a timely manner.
· Assure that all intakes and assessments are done and written within 30 days of receipt of referral.
· Assure that all incoming customer documentation (collateral, assessment, and master position) is sent to the Director/ Executive Director for a budget and Regional Center submission.
· Assure that all customers have CA Identification Cards.
· Assure that all customers attend their annual physical, dental and vision appointments.
· Assure that all annual documents are obtained and filed for every customer (consents, rights, and SLS principles)
· Assist in assuring that all charts, files, and documents are prepared and accurate for the Lynn and Darla Annual Regional Center audit.
· Act as the liaison to Regional Center, DDS and any additional entities involved.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Duties require 75% of work time be spent traveling from one place to another.
· Must have the ability to effectively implement First Aid/CPR/CPI procedures.
· Must have the ability to work on multiple assignments at one time.
· Must have the ability to push people using wheelchairs and assist people
experiencing seizures and assist people with transferring to/from wheelchairs.
· Must be capable of pushing, pulling, lifting to 60 lbs.
· Must be able to physically assist people who are experiencing aggressive or assaultive behavior.
