The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for the inspection of parts and material for conformance to appropriate specifications; for gage calibration; for reporting on the quality level of the product, both manufactured and purchased; to assist with the correction of quality problems that arise via the QRT assist with ISO audits; transitioning quality data into the ERP system.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Inspects purchased, subcontracted, and internally manufactured parts received per print specifications.
- Collaborates with all other departments and shifts to assist in the management & rectification of quality problems, regarding non-conforming parts and customer quality complaints.
- Participates with the QRT Team, responding & documenting corrective procedures
- Processes reject tags, documenting quality issues, and disposition of rejected parts to designated areas.
- Documents all inspection information of parts passed/rejected into computer.
- Collects all gauges to be calibrated by subcontractor vendor and generates calibration service requirements & individual calibration vendor scheduling.
- Maintains the online inspection gauge library & documentation of calibrated equipment.
- Performs gauge calibrations and repairs, as needed.
- Assists with the development and maintenance of the ISO 9001 quality system by writing work instruction procedures on how to calibrate specific gauges and performing ISO audits.
- Initiates Supplier Quality Improvement Report Quarterly based off R-Tag data.
- Attend supplier evaluation visits as required.
- Attend quarterly hold meeting for disposition.
- Assist with RGA’s (Returned Goods Authorization) process utilizing required software. Take apart assembled product if required, make disposition on all parts, and return to stock.
Education, Experience & Training:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- One or more years job related experience
- One year minimum of blueprint reading experience (Assembly, Welding, and Engineering drawings)
