Purpose: Ensures quality of product to meet customer requirements and communicates these requirements to all employees.
Essential Functions:

• Perform assessments as to the acceptability of finished and in process product.
• Verify the acceptability of parts to be used in production.
• Administer the Interplant Nonconforming Return Process
• Assist in the development of Quality System procedures and instructions and maintain records.
• Perform calibration of standard measuring equipment, i.e. gauges, calipers, tooling as directed.
• Reads and comprehends route sheets and bill of materials.
• Performs internal audits as directed.
• Perform receiving inspection on manufacturing and packaging materials
• Utilize and maintain appropriate paperwork such as receiving work sheets, R.I. log, history files, etc.
• Initiate material rejection notices when non-conformance is detected
• Document and file/distribute results as necessary, and process control documents as directed
• Perform lab analysis/tests on products as needed
• Perform chemical analysis of urethane components as necessary, and when in-process urethane problems develop
• Perform containment on suspect materials as requested
• Perform sorting and identification of products when directed
• Maintain tool calibration system in conjunction with Quality staff
• Maintain inspection documentation for Quality with up-to-date information
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications: A combination of education and experience, generally acquired through the attainment of a high school diploma, or equivalent.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate ability to:
Read and interpret prints/engineering drawings/standards and routings§ Learn the use of common inspection tools through sophisticated lab equipment
Use a computer to enter data and obtain data
Understands manufacturing process sufficiently to troubleshoot issues and good judgment in resolving issues and determining associated risk.
Work with minimal supervision
Communicate effectively with all departments and team members
Work with and around chemicals and other materials, having exposures within acceptable limits, without adverse reaction
Perform a variety of tasks throughout the day in a fast paced work environment.
Work in a physically demanding and potentially dirty environment
Interact constructively and effectively with all plant employees.
Ability to work in a team environment toward a common goal.
