Quality Assurance Inspector Position Summary Under general supervision, the Quality Assurance Inspector performs inspection of vehicles and vehicle components in a manner that demonstrates, "Everything is Important." Essential Functions Performs dimensional inspection of parts, components, subassemblies, and assemblies for conformance to blueprints, engineering specifications, and Customer requirements Additional inspection responsibilities may include performing body inspections of vehicles and vehicle components as required in accordance with Singer standards and operating procedures including but not limited to: Performing quality inspections during and after surfacing and paint processes Performing quality inspections prior-to or during assembly processes Verifying all required processes have been completed before releasing vehicle to next process step Tracks quality issues into Singer's nonconformance ticketing system and follow up on action items with action owners Develops and establishes inspection standards/work instructions and inspection plan Develops process maps (added) Material Review Board (MRB) Tracking (added) Uses a variety of precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, comparators, and gauging equipment Supports in-process inspection objectives by ensuring a stable and consistent workflow and resolving issues in a participative, proactive, and positive manner Trains new inspectors on parts of advanced complexity and assembly procedures Prepares and communicates inspection reports and communicate quality levels with the relevant internal and external teams Supports Planning/Scheduling, Engineering, Procurement, and Assembly teams Responsible for work area safety and cleanliness Follows relevant processes and procedures Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications: Required Education/Experience High school diploma with zero (0) to two (2) years of relevant work experience OR BA/BS, AA, or technical degree with zero (0) to one (1) year of relevant work experience Preferred Education/Experience and/or Certifications At least one (1) year of relevant work experience Prior experience in a rapid growth environment Good color acuity (Ishihara or Farnsworth-Munsell color test) Good visual acuity (with or without corrective lenses) Skills/Abilities and Attributes Basic knowledge of blueprints and capability of interpreting engineering drawings as well as applicable specifications Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment High attention to detail Effective written and verbal communications skills; ability to express ideas clearly and actively listen to others Team oriented, with a strong ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment to multiple deadlines Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively and efficiently Computer literate including emails, Excel, and other programs Physical Demands/Work Environment Must be able to work in a standing and/or walking position for extended periods Must be able to work safely around a vehicle Must have ability to speak clearly and distinctly and hear and be heard and understood in person and by telephone Must be able to work an early schedule and work overtime when needed Must be able to wear appropriate PPE in the production environment Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs., infrequent lifting to 50 lbs. Compensation The starting pay range for this position is between $20.00 - $28.00 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined by skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
