NOV is currently recruiting for a QC Inspector to join our team at our location at 11919 FM 529 in Houston; the main responsibilities of this role include:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform inspections on components.
- Perform source inspections at facilities.
- Prepare inspection reports and maintain files of inspection documents.
- Review inspection records received for compliance.
- Maintain inspection and measuring equipment.
- Prepare and coordinate Non-Conformance Reports (NCR's) for nonconforming parts.
- Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
- Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
FACILITY/GROUP SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Passes the J2 Color and Acuity eye test.
- Performs mechanical inspections on components as received from the suppliers using either traditional and/or electronic tools.
- Performs in-process inspections and records measurements and other relevant information (traceability) concerning capital equipment of completed assemblies.
- Monitors and records relevant information during testing of equipment.
- Able to review for conformance product-related documentation, MTR's, Test reports, NDE, etc.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- A minimum of 2 years of related inspection experience is required.
- Knowledge of using measurement instruments required
- Knowledge in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, material specifications, and requirements required
- Basic computer knowledge is required
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Works in warehouse/shop floor environment setting 75% of the day, 25% of the day are spent at a computer in an office.
- Exposed to loud noise while in the warehouse.
- Exposed to moving parts while on the shop floor.
- Exposed to occasional hot and/or cold weather depending on outside climate conditions and warehouse temperature since the shop floor is neither air-conditioned nor heated.
- Ability to operate both JIB and Overhead cranes.
- Ability to operate Class IV Forklift (Hyster 50 - 170)
BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES:
- Adheres to facilities safety policies and attends all monthly safety training.
- Wears proper PPE while in the warehouse.
- Attends all Human Resource directed training via classroom or Achieve CBT.
- Works well alone and in team environments.
