About the Job
Our team is growing, and Marcon Metal USA (www.marconmetal.com) is hiring an experienced QA/QC Manager to join our dynamic team based out of Ferndale, WA.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with project managers and department managers to ensure work is performed in accordance with the project’s governing specification or standard.
- In consultation with Shop Manager, Shipper/Receiver and Production Manager, develop procedures to provide checks for quality throughout the processing cycle.
- Ensure Mill Certificates for all material entering the shop are checked for compliance and scanned into the job board platform, highlight section pertaining to material received. Perform review for compliance to job requirements as a QA function.
- Assemble QA/QC packages as required by the job and send to the customer based on timelines required by the job or with delivery of the product, whichever comes first.
- Participate in Corrective Actions, NCR Investigations, and other Quality Control requirements.
- Prepare documentation (MTR) packages, prepare inspection and test records, and review vendor documentation.
- Collect and maintain full and accurate quality control documents for each job within the electronic job folder.
- Perform final QC checks before jobs are set for delivery.
- Over see welding procedures and qualifications in accordance with AWS D1.1 and W59 standards.
- Assist with analyzing production flow and prepare Inspection and Test Plans.
- Supervise internal quality team.
- Maintain AISC-related records and coordinate annual AISC audit.
- Other duties as assigned by the General Manager.
Experience required:
- Minimum 5 years experience in a management role related to Quality Assurance
- 3+ years experience in the field of structural steel fabrication, or 5+ years experience in the field of miscellaneous metal fabrication
- Experience with Quality Control Systems, Quality Assurance Programs is mandatory.
- Experience with Galvanized Steel, AWS Welding Standards, CSA Welding Standards, and CSA Design Standards is an asset.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to actively listen, exercise good judgement, speak clearly and plainly.
- Ability to analyse information, investigate process failures and plan strategically improvement processes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
