CCI is seeking a skilled QA/QC Inspector for the Overhaul Group
The QA/QC Inspector is responsible for maintaining quality assurance and quality control programs. This includes Inspection of all incoming turbine, compressor, gearbox, pump parts and various other parts that are deemed critical.

  • Maintain and demonstrate proficient working knowledge of all response-related equipment, policies, procedures, and tactics at all times.
  • Serve as a technical authority to crew and management team with respect to Quality issues.
  • Perform research, advise, and assist in QA/QC Processes
  • Performs audits of material and workmanship to ensure compliance and accurate specifications.
  • Assist in development of procedures/documents as necessary.
  • May work with asbestos containing materials.
  • Regularly communicate expectations to crew with respect to work execution, safety, procedures, and efficiency.
  • Provide regular and timely feedback regarding performance continually seeking work process improvement.
  • Communicate daily status of current projects to North Slope Manager to ensure all projects are timely and within company standards.
  • Prepare any required reports as required by CCI Clients, the North Slope Manager or Environmental Project Manager.
  • Assists with performing heavy lifting operations requiring operations support.
  • Manage multiple projects, priorities and competing demands simultaneously.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to follow directions in detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret diagrams, schematics, and procedures.
  • Ability to work well with others in an environment that includes harsh weather conditions, remote locations, and diversified personalities.

Requirements
Required Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in the mechanical field, including knowledge of turbines, compressors, pumps, and rotating equipment.
  • Must be able to read engineering drawings to obtain required measured dimensions.
  • Must have good communication skills for use in dealing with the rotating engineers and Hilcorp team lead.
  • Must be proficient in the use of the following tools: Micrometers (inside, outside, depth; calipers up to 74").
  • Must be proficient in Outlook, Word, and use of Excel documents.
  • Must be able to work as part of a team; communicate effectively with fellow workers and alternate; and demonstrate adherence to established safety policies and procedures.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Current NSTC Card

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced level proficiency in computers, including the ability to take online training, email general reports and use Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Familiarity with Greater Prudhoe Bay facilities

Working Conditions:
  • Position may involve exposure to extremely hostile weather conditions at times while working outdoors.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works on-site at the construction work site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud.
  • This position may involve working with potentially hazardous materials and waste.

Hearing: Must be able to hear audible safety alarms, and be able to discern audible symptoms of malfunctioning equipment.
Visual Acuity: Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Vision must be adequate to perform above listed tasks in a safe manner.
Fine Motor Skills: Frequently required to use hands and fingers with sufficient dexterity to perform close, exacting and repetitive tasks.
Lifting: The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
Communication Skills: Must display ability to read and understand job descriptions, safety/technical manuals, and safety/warning signs. Must display sufficient oral communication skills to be able to give and receive oral safety warnings, instructions, and task assignments.
Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to severe arctic weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, confined spaces, and the risk of electrical shock. May be required to work with toxic or caustic chemicals.
