Job Description:
The Trustmark Companies is searching for a seasoned Quality Assurance Analyst to oversee the day-to-day testing activities for the policy administration of Voluntary Benefits worksite products.
The ideal candidate is a strong Quality Assurance & Testing leader who has deep experience in the insurance industry, and specifically voluntary benefits products, including Life insurance, Disability, Accident, Critical Illness and others. The QA Analyst role is responsible for evaluating and testing in-house and third-party software and other applications to ensure compliance with organizational standards and requirements. As a QA Analyst, you will participate in the establishment of quality standards, assess service levels and product performance to ensure they meet established quality standards, document issues and track status in designated systems, and serve as a technical expert on development projects.
This role reports directly to the Executive Director of Applications for Voluntary Benefits.
Job Responsibilities
Key responsibilities of the individual in this role includes:
- Collaborates with business and technical teams to ensure quality delivery of new and existing capabilities.
- Leads and oversees contracted QA resources that perform QA/testing activities for ongoing run and project level initiatives.
- Defines test strategy and is responsible for monitoring and tracking the effectiveness of testing.
- Manages key performance indicators. Documents & assists in resolution of quality issues.
- Creates dashboards and performs analysis for how to improve the QA and Software Development Lifecycle Process and drives continuous quality improvement.
- Collaborates with Testing Automation teams to identify opportunities to shift from manual testing to automated testing, develops implementation plan and shares accountability for implementation.
- Develops test strategy for technical solutions being implemented, and oversees creation of test cases and test execution, manually or through automation.
- Monitor quality performance and recommend optimizations as necessary.
- Coordinate with project managers and other team leads to ensure smooth delivery of projects.
- Produce metrics and dashboards to provide visibility to Business partners and IT leadership on quality, closure rates, backlog health, etc. Shares and reports on status to senior leaders and stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications:
- The ideal candidate is a strong quality/testing lead with considerable experience working in the insurance industry and familiarity with voluntary insurance products.
- Prior experience overseeing QA teams or serving as a Team Lead.
- Extensive experience with quality assurance processes and implementing best practices including test automation.
- Experience implementing a "shift left" mindset and strategy as it relates to quality and testing.
- Prior experience developing and implementing test strategy, and driving conversations focused on continuous process improvement.
- Experience working with business stakeholders and setting and managing expectations and priorities.
- Ability to lead and drive issues to resolution.
- Ability to utilize data and reporting to demonstrate quality results and opportunities for improvement.
- Expertise and experience with agile or similar delivery methodologies
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills. Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Bachelor's Degree and 6 to 8 years of related experience.
- Familiarity with insurance or financial services domain is required.
