About Our Group

Our procurement team is a critical component in ensuring the that our manufacturing teams have the supplies to produce on time quality airplanes for our customers. Procurement roles are ideal for people who enjoy developing strong relationships, managing complex situations, and are very strategic. All our teams focus on different spaces in direct and indirect procurement. In this role, we are actively recruiting for the Customer Support Team. The Customer Support team supports our customers who have aircraft in service. The Senior Purchasing Manager for this role will be managing a team within in our Procurement Customer Support procurement group. This team supports our Service Centers across the globe in the purchasing of parts and materials for these service centers. Customer Support enables us to deliver quality service to the maintenance of customers' aircraft.

About the Role

Effective mentor and develop a team of direct reports (Supervisors) and indirect reports (Buyers, Procurement Specialists, Procurement Project Managers).
Ability to identify issues within the supply chain and develop solutions to the resolve the issues.
Experience in aftermarket purchasing or aerospace is highly desired.

Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in business administration or related field required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Master's Degree preferred. 10 years related procurement and contract experience to include at least seven (7) years of progressively responsible management experience or progressive procurement experience. Supervisory experience preferred..

Position Purpose:

Manages and controls the purchasing and strategic sourcing activities for the plant including but not limited to new product and continued business development. Provides guidance and supervision to purchasing personnel for the company. Researches, develops and implements cost-effective and efficient procedures to purchase more sophisticated commodities and services, requiring unique design, development or administrative effort in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

Develops sources of supply and obtains information from suppliers concerning product specifications, price, delivery dates, etc. and ensures all applicable data is current at seller.

Negotiates optimum delivery schedules and ensures best combination of price, quantity discount, product quality, standard terms and conditions; communicates with departments such as Program Office, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Planning, Product Support and/or Legal to ensure their requirements are met.

Writes and administers definitive purchase orders, including terms and conditions, and enters into contracts with suppliers within budgetary limitations. .

Monitors supplier performance and prepares reports and other records pertaining to items purchased, cost, delivery, product performance, and/or inventories. .

Supports purchasing and sourcing activities and directs department quality control procedures.

Manages direct strategic category relationships including execution against contractual requirements, new product introductions and continued business development.

Manages existing supplier agreements and establishing and executing strategies for the sourcing and development of new suppliers.

Manages project risk to ensure accurate supplier and material costs are utilized and represents procurement in Sourcing Strategy meetings.

Responsible for direction of machined parts and/or offload materials.

Coordinates purchasing objectives with all related company functions.

Performs material tracing functions for all purchased items including action to achieve acceptable delivery, as well as constant current status of purchased parts at the supplier.

Utilizes continuous improvement and best practices to drive results.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements:

Significant expertise in dealing with complex procurements.

Detailed knowledge in purchasing methods and techniques.

Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

A credit history check from a national credit bureau will be conducted for all candidates for this position including new hires and current employees seeking promotion or transfer.
