Under the direct supervision of the Broadband Operations Manager, this entry-level Broadband Construction Inspector (Temporary) coordinates
and conducts inspection of private and public projects involving Pulse infrastructure and ensuring completion in accordance with City standards and specifications.
The pay range for this position is $22.14 to $30.99 per hour, with a hiring range of $22.14 to $26.56 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.
This is a temporary, 40-hours per week, 10-month maximum position.

Essential Functions
- Performs complete and professional inspection duties to determine compliance with City standards and specifications by rendering objective and impartial decisions.
- Track status of projects and any arising concerns.
- Produce daily logs for assigned projects to effectively document inspection activities.
- Interact with developers, contractors, and citizens in an effective and professional manner to address any questions or concerns.
- Read and interpret applicable Pulse construction standards, codes, ordinances, construction drawings, working plans, and maps.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Required Education: High School or GED
- Preferred Experience: 1 year Construction inspection or related duties.
- Certifications: Must possess a valid Driver's License.

- Ability to interpret and apply codes and ordinances, read construction documents, and document regulations.
- Ability to express oneself clearly both verbally and in writing, and to prepare written reports and review comments.

- Must be interpersonally effective at working with contractors and developers, and the general public.
Physical Demands
- Frequent: Minimal physical effort typically found in clerical work. Primarily sedentary, may occasionally lift and carry light objects. Walking and/or standing as needed and minimal.
- Frequent: Moderate to considerable physical effort that includes working from ladders in awkward positions. Frequent use of light or medium weight objects (e.g., 25-50 lbs) and use of medium weight tools.
Working Conditions
- Frequent: Exposure to routine office noise and equipment.
- Frequent: Exposure to heat and noise along with working outside in the elements.
Additional Working Demands/Conditions
- Work is performed in both office and field environments and may involve exposure to dirt, dust, fumes and extreme weather conditions and exposure to noise levels that may cause strains on the body.
- May be required to bend, push, pull, stoop and kneel to perform essential functions of the job.
- May traverse uneven ground; work at various heights above ground or in confined spaces.
- May be required to move and maneuver heavy weights up to 50 pounds infrequently, but moderate heavy weights on a frequent basis.
- Sufficient eyesight to judge distances and avoid construction hazards.
- Communicate and receive verbal instruction at distance of up to 75 feet.
