As a Publicist at Bloom and Casablanca you will spearhead our efforts in the romance, new adult, and YA genres, focusing on securing impactful media coverage, creating a strong presence at key conferences, and producing engaging bookstore events. Your role will be pivotal in shaping awareness for our authors and their titles. It is crucial for candidates to be knowledgeable and passionate about books in the romance, new adult, and YA romance categories.
This role can be remote in any of our approved states (IL, MN, WI, CT, MD, NJ, NY, AZ, NV, TN, TX, NC, PA, WA) or is welcome to work in-person from our New York, NY or Naperville, IL offices .

Publicist Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute comprehensive publicity and title marketing plans for authors in the romance and YA categories.
- Secure media coverage through strategic pitching and relationship-building with key influencers and journalists.
- Plan and coordinate presence at key industry conferences, ensuring maximum visibility and networking opportunities.
- Organize and execute engaging bookstore events to connect authors with readers and drive book sales.
- Stay abreast of TikTok and Instagram trends, utilizing social media to enhance book visibility and connect with online audiences.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on retail marketing and digital marketing initiatives.
- Foster a passion for books within the romance, new adult, and YA categories both internally and externally.
- 6-8+ years publicity and/or marketing experience for a book publisher.
- Proven experience in book publicity and events; excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong media relationships.
- A willingness to experiment, pursue new ideas, and ways of working.
- Strong creative perspective including writing skills and visual instincts.
- Familiarity with TikTok and Instagram trends, and a keen awareness of the online audience landscape.
- A true love for books in romance, YA, fantasy, and related genres.
