Public Relations & Communications Manager
- Serves as a liaison between the Nation and the public.
- Develops and maintains a positive public image for the organization through public-facing communication.
- Writes, reviews, and/or distributes press releases and other public-facing communication.
- Responds to information requests from media contacts.
- Establishes and maintains positive relationships with media outlets, consumers, government employees, and public interest groups.
- Arranges interviews for company’s executives and management.
- Evaluates advertising campaigns to ensure consistency with the organization’s public relations strategy.
- Develops and/or executes social media and content strategies to release information on the organization in a manner that will promote a positive public image.
- Oversees and produces, from concept to completion, a broad array of digital and/or print promotional and communication materials for the organization.
- Ensures that all materials present a clear, unified, and positive image for the organization and/or brand.
- Plans, prepares, and distributes original promotional content such as articles, news and press releases, email, blog and social media posts, and other updates on behalf of the organization.
- Promotes and attends special events and functions; promotes and reports on corporate milestones and activities such as company goals and projects; new products or services; community service activities; and new hires, promotions, and retirements.
- Arranges for photography and/or press coverage for special events.
- Attends trade shows and community fairs and staffs the company booth.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Extensive knowledge of public relations principles and strategies.
- Excellent public speaking skills.
- Excellent written communication skills with a proven ability to write in a journalistic style that is customary for external publications.
- Excellent interpersonal and networking skills with an ability to build and maintain positive relationships with media contacts and outlets.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with the proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficient with social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds at times.

- Full time: 40 + hours per week

Salary:
$70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year

Hours of operation:
- 8:00 AM- 4:30 PM Monday – Friday
- Other times as needed dependent upon events, press release deadlines etc.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required, concentration in Public Relations, Communications, Political Science or similar.
Experience:
- Writing skills: 3 years (Required)
- Public Relations: 3 years (Required)
- Marketing: 1 year (Required)
- Social media marketing: 2 years (Required)
