ROLE OVERVIEW: The Senior Account Director, Public Relations will be directly responsible for managing the execution of Public Relations strategies and campaigns for key accounts and clients. The Senior Account Director will be a key resource in client management by maintaining strong relationships to meet clients’ expectations. This role will also pitch and partner with journalists, editors, media outlets, publications, and third-party vendors to increase the visibility and exposure for our client roster in alignment with their overall career trajectory goals. This position will directly report to the company founder and supervise the company’s junior resources in the day-to-day management of end-to-end PR activities in the areas of Music, Entertainment, Sports, Politics/Education, Fashion, Technology and more.
RESPONSIBILITIES
● Collaborate with team members, brands and agencies to develop comprehensive strategic media plans and ensure all outbound assets and communications align with each client's overall PR strategy.
● Devise traditional, non-traditional and out of the box PR and communication strategies that garner media coverage as well as span markets and audience segments.
● Devise cohesive PR strategies that thoughtfully leverage strategic placement in communication channels / platforms to create a consistent feed of information for clients that connects with target audiences.
● Drive the creation of premiere media / press opportunities and lead the development and approval of briefing docs, press releases, fact sheets, media invites, and all other communications relevant to press initiatives.
● Identify, create, and capitalize on new exposure opportunities by staying up to date on new Public Relations, marketing and media trends and strategies.
● Lead client management activities and actively manage clients’ expectations throughout the execution of campaigns and PR activities.
● Develop / oversee the execution of the Public Relations campaign events calendar for clients and accounts.
● Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
● 7-10+ years in Public Relations, marketing, advertising, and / or brand leadership experience (Music, Entertainment, Sports, Politics/Education, Fashion industries preferred).
● Strong relationships with premiere media outlets to drive prime-time and quick media placements of clients.
● Experience positioning celebrities in the most optimized way across all print, broadcast and digital platforms.
● Experience placing clients in premiere fashion shows.
● Experience leading and executing day-to-day PR activities with celebrities (e.g., facilitating red carpets, press junkets, etc.).
● Demonstrated success building and nurturing relationships with clients, vendors, consultants, and project teams as well as supervisory experience with people management ability.
● Strong client management skills to manage client expectations and maintain strong relationships.
● Directs multiple projects effectively, prioritizing and driving action efficiently in the face of ambiguity.
● Ability to move with urgency to launch successful campaigns / projects / briefs with limited preparation time and information.
● Ability to operate with a small team and knows how to execute all PR functions in order to instruct and review work products of junior team members.
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to review / make edits to others’ writing.
● Experience, identifying opportunities for new business to help grow the client roster.
EDUCATION
● BA in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or related fields.

LOCATION AND WORKING CONDITIONS
● Position is based in New York City, NY.
● Work for this position will be in-person to collaborate with the Vital Versatility Team, support account needs, and provide superior client service.
● Periodic travel will be required (within the continental US) to support accounts and clients, as assigned.
● Position may call for work in evenings, on weekends and over holidays depending on events, projects, campaigns, etc.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $105,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
