Public Health Wic Nutritionist

Marion Public Health is seeking a qualified candidate to fill an opening for a full-time (40 hours a week) or Part-Time (24 hours a week) Public Health Nutritionist for the WIC Program. The WIC Public Health Nutritionist is responsible for completing nutrition and health assessments, providing nutrition counseling, assisting mothers with breastfeeding, and assisting with office duties in the clinic. Registered Dietitians with previous WIC experience are preferred. Registered Dietitians, Dietetic Technicians Registered, Registered Nurses, and new graduates with a Bachelor of Science background related to nutritional sciences, clinical nutrition, Public Health nutrition, physcian assistant, or home economics with an emphasis in nutrition are encouraged to apply.

The ideal candidate would need to have the ability to accept people where they are in order to listen thoroughly and anticipate needs. To be fully committed to the team by having a learning mindset to get things done and bring positive energy even amid challenges. We are looking for candidates with nutrition assessment and education in a WIC setting, experience supporting breastfeeding, knowledge, and skills in motivational interviewing, and an interest in working with community partners to implement strategies that improve access to nutrition, physical activity, and health care. Pay: $19.71 - $28.22 per hour
