Ivy Tech Community College - Terre Haute Campus has a role for a Part Time
Library Assistant. This person will assist students and perform basic library functions as outlined in the job description. Some Saturday hours will be required.
Basic Roles & Responsibilities
- Opening and/or closing the Library
- Answering Library patron questions about services, on campus, online, or by telephone
- Performing basic Circulation desk duties, such as checking materials in or out
- Reserving study rooms
- Assisting patrons with the printing process
- Assisting patrons with the Library Login Kiosk
- Shelving or re-shelving Library materials using Library of Congress or Dewey indexing
- Assisting with semi-annual Library inventory
- Participating in or supporting Library events
- Participating in ongoing Library skills training
- Referring students to other services on campus, such as tutoring, advising, or testing
Skills & Abilities
- Strong communication abilities are necessary for the position
- Professional interaction skills needed with faculty, staff, students, and community members
- Basic technology skills with willingness to learn new technologies
- Ability to work independently as well as on a team
- Some Saturday hours required
$15/hour
Associates Degree preferred
