The Library Assistant is often the first person our patrons see when they enter the library! This position serves as a paraprofessional providing services to our younger patrons and their caregivers. Responsibilities include public service duties at the circulation desk, shelving, shelf reading, and reading recommendations. This position also provides programming and outreach services, primarily for preschool children, including but not limited to the Boy’s and Girl’s Club.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Computer skills with some experience in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, email and the Internet
- Some experience working with children, especially in a group environment
- Current driver license with good driving record
Skills:
Ability to successfully interact and communicate with people of all ages; service oriented, self-motivated; perform job responsibilities with a high level of attention to detail; work independently with minimal supervision; work well within a team; basic keyboarding skills and use of email and the Internet.
We require applicants to be at least 18 years old and to possess a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
Hours: Monday through Thursday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and one rotating Saturday every six weeks, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. No Sundays!
Location: Primarily at Morrisson-Reeves Library with some services rendered at our branch at the Boy’s and Girl’s Club.

Pay: $12.00 per hour
