Summary
Responsible for a variety of day-to-day HR functions including but not limited to benefits administration (Health & Welfare, 401k, stock purchase plan, education assistance plan, etc..), workers' compensation administration, leaves of absence administration, recruitment, AAP administration, employee relations issues, training, records maintenance, employee recognition programs, performance management and other various projects. Interacts with senior internal and external personnel. Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Performs recruitment activities, interviews, and evaluates candidates for all open positions. Maintains records related to same. Performs outreach to community sources as needed. Participates in job fairs/college fairs as necessary.
  • Conducts new hire orientation.
  • Processes personnel action forms and assures proper approvals.
  • Maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 report annually, maintains other records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
  • Maintains Human Resource Information System records and compiles various reports from database.
  • Creates and maintains filing systems, both physical and electronic. Ensures compliance with retention schedule.
  • Administers 90-day reviews. Ensures reviews are written appropriately and completed in a timely manner.
  • Creates and maintains site specific job descriptions.
  • Counsels' employees and managers who have questions about benefits programs, as well as other related employment or policy issues.
  • Maintains and coordinates employee recognition programs.
  • Ensures performance appraisals are written appropriately and completed in a timely manner.
  • Maintains and coordinates educational assistance program.
  • Assists employees in resolving insurance-related issues as needed.
  • Coordinates annual open enrollment process. Communicates changes to all employees with the online enrollment process as needed.
  • Performs monthly benefits audits.
  • Assists employees with processing qualifying events in the online benefits system.
  • Submits and tracks workers' compensation claims for injured employees. Reviews open claims regularly with the claim's adjusters. Communicates regularly with the injured employees to ensure they are following treatment.
  • Administers leaves of absences, STD, LTD, and FMLA programs, counsel employees as necessary.
  • Coordinates termination process with management, payroll and employee. Ensures employee receives exit interview and returns company property.
  • Maintains facility organizational charts.
  • Researches, develops, implements and maintains policies and procedures.
  • Proactively makes recommendations to improve HR operations and value added to business operations.
  • Perform other Human Resources related duties, as required.
  • Daily availability to include evenings and weekends when necessary to reach goals and deadlines.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities but may include providing technical leadership to lower-level Administrators.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university in a related position and 4-7 years of directly related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. SHRM-CP or PHR certification is highly desirable.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of manager, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, precentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in writte, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a working knowledge of MS Outlook; MS Excel and MS Word Software.
Other Essential Duties
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws and regulations
  • Basic knowledge of ISO and/or AS9100
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/6 sigma/Kaizen
  • Knowledge of specific software (HRIS)
  • Ability to travel (domestically/internationally) approximately 5%.

Physical Demands:

The pay range for this job is determined by various factors, including but not necessarily limited to location, responsibilities of the job, and alignment with market data. When determining a salary for this role, the following factors may be taken into consideration-affordability, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience. The estimate display represents the salary range for this position and is just one component of Teledyne's' total compensation package for employees. It is not necessarily reflective of actual compensation that may be earned, nor a promise of any specific pay for any specific employee.
Salary Range:
$59,400.00 - $99,220.00
