Provider Documentation Specialist
Hourly Rate: $15-$25

PAIN MANAGEMENT GROUP is looking for an experienced full-time employee (4, 8 hour days a week) to join the pain management program at Hancock Regional Hospital. The Provider Documentation Specialist performs a variety of routine administrative and clinical tasks to ensure the smooth and efficient operations of the pain management clinic. This position is responsible for supporting the physician and ensuring all Provider Documentation and orders are entered into the system and signed by the end of each clinic day. These duties include prework to facilitate smooth workflow for the physician before clinic, transcribing notes on behalf of the physician in real time, and entering medical orders for the physician's signature during the patient visit. This position assists in delivery of direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse or physician.

What else you can expect:
- Chart patient encounters in real-time during office visits
- Reviews documentation to determine accuracy
- Manage and sort medical documents in the EMR system
- Generate communication to collaborating physicians
- Assist physician with e-Scribing
- Assist in delivery of direct patient care as directed.
- Complete accurate documentation in patient records and charges as directed.
- Transmit charge sheets to third party billing service in a timely and accurate manner.
- Prioritize a wide variety of tasks, meet tight timeframes, adjust to unexpected or unscheduled demands, and revise work accordingly.
- Perform various clerical duties such as copying, filing, typing, statistical information gathering, and others as requested.
- Enter data into iStats and hospital database when required.
What you need to be qualified:
Licensure/Certification/Registration (Required)
- BLS certification required within 30 days of hire
Education
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Medical Assistant Certificate Program or Associate Degree, preferred
Experience & Qualifications (required)
- Must have a minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience working in a healthcare setting preferably in a physician practice setting and as a Scribe
- Able to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Previous experience working in an EHR
- Strong computer and Microsoft Office skills
- Good communication and organizational skills
- Able to take immediate action in serious situations
- Able to read and follow instructions in English
