The Role:
The Proposal Writer will write and edit proposals in response to State, Local, Education (SLED) or Corporate solicitations for our clients. Proposal writing includes work in diverse industries including, but not limited to, technology, software, telecommunications, healthcare, and education. The primary responsibility of the Proposal Writer is to work with Proposal Managers in assessing and documenting RFP requirements, interviewing SMEs (subject matter experts), writing compelling and persuasive RFP responses, identifying gaps in content, and completing final edits.

To be considered for this position, applicants must have writing experience in state/local (SLED) RFP responses.

JOB SCOPE
This role can work remotely from anywhere in the U.S. and works independently in support of the client.

Here’s What You’ll Be Doing:

• Break down proposals to identify Requirements/Questions for response
• Gather proposal content and information by identifying sources of information, interviewing contributors as needed, and coordinating submissions
• Interview subject matter experts to gather content and information to write RFP responses
• With client input, write proposal content including, but not limited to, executive summaries, project management and implementation approaches, management and staffing plans, technical sections, past performance, and company experience.
• Creates strategic and persuasive messaging, tailors proposal content to the RFP
• Contributes to strategy and editing of the proposal responses and library content
• Maintains quality results by following proposal-writing standards including, standard language, readability, consistency, and tone
• Edits documents to verify accuracy, consistency, and grammar; and to ensure consistent tone and voice.
• Meets deadlines for content gathering, writing, reviews, and approvals
• Contributes to proposal status information for the Proposal Manager
• Provides support in analyzing, writing, and editing proposals

Must-Have Skills and Qualifications:

• Ability to provide documents verifying authorization to work in the U.S.
• Must pass Criminal Background Checks and Drug Testing
• Bachelor’s degree with 3 years of proposal writing experience in state and local; OR
• 5 years of experience and proven track record in RFP proposal writing for state/local RFP responses
• Excellent writing skills with demonstrated ability to create original content and edit the work of others to meet current needs
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Ability to assess RFP Requirements/Questions and communicate needs to the proposal team and clients for content
• Ability to understand technical concepts and formulate them into concise written form and responses
• Ability to incorporate proposal theme and strategy throughout the response
• Strong self-starter with excellent problem-solving abilities
• Process-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality work products under tight deadlines
• Ability to communicate with and build rapport with varying types of personalities
• Ability to work on and write several client proposals at once while prioritizing and meeting tight deadlines

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
