We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Proposal Writer to join our team of professionals. This position offers great opportunity for dynamic, motivated self-starters to work on a variety of work assignments. You’ll be a member of our highly respected team of professionals with a full complement of resources to support you and exciting projects to keep you challenged.
Responsibilities:
- Communicates with division managers, technical staff, and marketing team to coordinate and produce high-quality SOQs, proposals and presentations from concept to completion
- Layout, format, edit, and finalize proposals and presentations utilizing Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite programs, including InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Write, develop, format and organize proposal content and templates, including project descriptions, resumes, project lists and related collateral.
- Reviews content and works with assigned team members to eliminate any items that would be a potential issue to the client.
- Prepares written text and coordinates layout and organization of narrative and graphics incorporated into proposals, manuals and other documents.
- Research prospect to learn current service provider, budgets, and other technical details in support of proposal development.
- Advises managers of potential conflicts within scheduling or information provided in similar documents / process workflows.
- Provides support to internal company departments or business development teams.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Skills
- Formal proposal writing experience, specifically responding to RFPs (municipal preferred)
- Experience working with Operations and Business Development teams.
- Experience analyzing formal solicitations and developing responses to solicitation requirements
- Experience leading kickoff calls and draft development reviews
- Strong written communication, basic presentation skills, with the ability to write technical documentation.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Deadline-oriented with ability to coordinate and work well with team members.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal and interviewing skills when working with SMEs and technical leads.
- Maintains quality results by using templates, following proposal-writing standards including readability, consistency, and tone, and maintaining proposal support databases.
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Word.
- Working knowledge of SharePoint administration and production processes highly desirable
- Proficient in Microsoft Word; inDesign experience a plus
- General knowledge of Salesforce preferred
- Proficient in English language to apply rules of grammar and spelling.
Experience & Education
- Bachelor’s degree in an associated discipline preferred.
- 3+ years’ experience in proposal development.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
- Demonstrate ability to work efficiently under conditions of multiple deadlines and changing priorities to produce a large volume of high-quality material with attention to detail.
