Job Description and Profile
The Proposal Writer position is responsible for assisting in creating proposal documents to support LDC, Inc. This includes technical writing, assisting with document layout and preparing proposals. The Proposal Writer consults with engineering, planning, and technical staff and assists in writing and checking engineering specifications. The Proposal Writer will assist in writing and proofreading proposal documents, creating and modifying templates, and creating internal/external marketing materials.
Reports to: Senior Vice President with direct supervision from Technical Writer II
Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing technical materials, reports, and memorandums.
• Prepare written proposals and scopes of work.
• Assists with preparation of engineering technical specifications.
• Work with input from engineering and planning departments to mine information and create printed and electronic technical documentation.
• Manage multiple projects/assignments simultaneously.
• Edit, standardize, or make changes to material prepared by other contributors.
• Track project assignment schedules and budgets.
• Prepare meeting agendas and minutes.
• Assist with website content.

Skills and Specifications

• Strong writing and editing skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
• Proficiency with Adobe applications (Acrobat, Photoshop, Premier, Illlustrator).
• Experience publishing content to websites.
• Familiarity with multiple mobile and desktop platforms.
• Excellent research and organizational skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to grasp complex technical concepts.
• Ability to work in a fast environment within tight deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team; communicate and collaborate with others to meet project requirements.
• Able to clearly explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Skilled at prioritization and multi-tasking.

Education, Experience, Qualifications

• Associate degree in English, Engineering, Journalism, Technology or related field preferred.
• 2 years technical writing experience in an engineering environment or combination of education and experience.
• Valid Washington State Driver's License.

Physical Considerations

• Ability to operate standard office equipment, such as personal computer, printer, copy machine, telephone and calculator.
• Ability to perform repetitive, finer hand and arm movements.
• Work activities involve combination of sitting for longer periods and intermittent standing/walking.
