Project Staff Accountant

Under the direction of the Controller, the Accountant will be responsible for providing a full range of accounting support. Candidate should have broad accounting knowledge, be experienced with Xero (preferred) or Quickbooks accounting software in a service organization environment, have a professional demeanor, and have strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for general transactional accounting functions, including invoicing, collections, accounts receivable, and accounts payable
• Creating monthly, quarterly, and year end financial reports
• Bank and account reconciliation
• Maintain business licenses and permits
• Coordinating corporate taxes with tax accountant
• Maintenance and archiving of vendor files
• Provide input into annual business plan and operating budget
• Running of payroll – Gusto experience preferred
• Creation of ad hoc accounting and financial reports
• Maintain and document budgets, including but not limited to staff’s PTO balance and other monetary-based benefits
• Payment and registering of bills
• Handling of collections and appropriate correspondence with clients
• Administrative support and other general office tasks as assigned

Requirements

• Degree in Accounting/Business Administration
• 5+ years of professional accounting experience
• Proficient in Xero or Quickbooks (working knowledge of mid-range ERP software a plus) and Microsoft Office, with advanced intermediate Excel abilities
• Strong knowledge of accounting concepts, functions, and procedures
• Solid verbal and written communication skills
• Able to work effectively in fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Able to pass accounting test
• Coordination with the Project Managment Team in terms of Invoicing

Location: standard office hours on site in Pasadena, CA

Salary: $65-75k
