- The Project Manager / Sr. Project Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising the correction of shipboard warranty, incomplete new construction, and Government tasked emergent repairs in the areas of Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical.
- Investigate and determine the contractual responsibility for alleged guarantee items and/or incomplete new construction work items.
- Provide support to ship exercises, tests, and surveys, including LOA, PDT&T, CSSQT, Final Contract Trials, Decking Survey, Corrosion Control Survey and Shock Trials as required.
- Conduct daily interaction with the customer, including; Ship's Commanding Officer and Crew, SSBA, PMS400D, Type Commander, Regional Maintenance Center, Port Engineer, FTSC (LANT/PAC), NAVSSES, etc.
- Serve as onboard/onsite Fleet Service representative for extended periods of time resolving daily shipboard issues and/or supervising the execution of a project/work package.
- Provide Ship Class design and performance feedback and recommendations to the appropriate Government and BIW entities.
- Be on-call 24 hours/day, 365 days/year and prepared to travel on short notice anywhere in the world providing "quick response" customer service.
Required/Preferred Education/Training
- An undergraduate degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Electrical Engineering or similar discipline is preferred.
Required/Preferred Experience
- Candidates should have (10+) years of collective experience in Marine Engineering, USN or Commercial Fleet Lifecycle Support in the areas of maintenance and repair.
- In-depth knowledge of DDG-51 Class Destroyers, along with experience gained in a Navy waterfront maintenance environment, will factor in the selection process.
- Strong computer, oral, written, analytical, and interpersonal skills, coupled with the ability to work independently and/or as a member of a team are required.
- Offsite travel can approach 4 months or more, on average, in a one-year period.
- Must be able to effectively manage multiple priorities and meet ship's operational schedule demands.
