The Kansas Corporation Commission (KCC) is seeking a certified Project Manager with experience in reporting to an Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) to oversee a large-scale project for the State of Kansas. The selected Project Manager will play a pivotal role in steering the project through effective planning, execution, and verification processes.
The KCC has a small dedicated IT staff in which many fulfill multiple traditional IT roles. One of whom is a Project Manager/Application Development Supervisor position, who has led the project management effort up to this point, but is also the subject matter expert and support person for the legacy applications. Multi-role assignments in this size of a project is not advisable and hence, it is the KCC's intention to onboard a dedicated Project Manager for this project. `Scope:
The Project Manager will be responsible for project planning and execution, preparing reports for a separate IV&V vendor, stakeholder collaboration, documentation management, risk management, and quality assurance. Additionally, the Project Manager will oversee specific project expectations, including the Project Steering Committee, Configuration Management, Internal Quality Assurance, Risk Management, and various project plans and reports. 9 Skill set info a. Perform project preparations, providing guidance, advice, and experience-based information.
b. Develop and maintain a comprehensive project plan, outlining timelines, milestones, and resource allocations in adherence to the Kansas Project Management Methodology (PMM) and ITEC policies.
c. Submit required project related documents to the Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) vendor.
d. Facilitate stakeholder collaboration, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
e. Establish and maintain project documentation, including plans, schedules, status reports, and IV&V findings.
f. Identify and assess project risks, developing mitigation strategies.
g. Implement quality assurance processes to ensure the integrity and accuracy of project deliverables.
h. Oversee testing and validation activities to meet quality standards.
i. Serve as the primary point of contact for project-related matters.
j. Regularly communicate project status, issues, and updates to stakeholders. 10 Education 11 Certifications (if required) Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is mandatory.
Proven experience in large-scale project management with IV&V activities.
