The Position:
The Project Manager II, reporting to the Manager, Project Management Office (PMO), leads multidisciplinary project teams, providing direction, drive, and coordination of both regional and enterprise-initiated projects. Projects may consist of onboarding new customers, IT integrations and enhancements, operational process improvements, facility infrastructure, and automation projects.
This position works from 8am-5pm, Monday through Friday; the compensation range for this position is $103K-$108K, depending on experience.
Your Day-to-Day:
- Leads multiple projects with varying levels of complexity ensuring the timely delivery of milestones and successful achievement of business outcomes
- Applies industry-standard project management best practices when creating artifacts such as project plans, budget tracking, schedules, meeting notes, risk registries, and status reports
- Monitors and controls each project by tracking, reviewing and communicating progress to project stakeholders and team members through the use of such tools as status reports, risk registers, issue log, and decision and action item trackers
- Prepares for and leads project team meetings including creating and distributing meeting agendas and meeting notes
- Follows change management processes, documenting change requests, researching impact and options, and providing recommendations to external and internal customers
- Provides regular, professional, and appropriate communications to project team members, external customers, department heads, and senior leadership
- Proactively identifies, tracks, and resolve issues, risks and dependencies. Communicates risks and issues to the project team and senior leadership. Identifies and implements issue resolutions. Leads risk management identification and mitigation plans
- Quickly builds rapport and trust with external customers, able to effectively guide them through the new customer onboarding process quickly and with high quality
- Effectively uses project management systems, such as Clarizen, to track and communicate progress
- Participates in continual process improvement efforts within the PMO and complies with polices and best practices
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
- Bachelor’s degree in the field of Project Management, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or other relevant area.
- Eight (8) years of relevant work experience may be substituted for the college degree.
- PMP or similar certification strongly preferred
- Lean Six Sigma certification strongly preferred
- Three (3) to five (5) years’ project management experience, including task identification, scheduling, resource planning, risk assessment, expectation management, scope definition, and issue management 3PL, warehousing, or similar industry experience highly preferred
- Experience in a customer facing role where creative problem solving and frequent communication was required to achieve business outcomes
- Demonstrated flexibility and tolerance for ambiguity and uncertainty
- Possesses a high degree of technical savvy, with a keen ability to learn new technology quickly and easily
- Experience working with a Project Management Office (PMO) is preferred
- Hand-on use with project management software, such as MS Project or Clarizen preferred
- Relevant experience in the 3rd party logistics (3PL) sector and/or warehouse management systems strongly desired
- Working knowledge of Windows applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
- Strategic and innovative mindset, with the desire to act quickly, think critically, challenge the status quo, create innovative solutions, and drive transformation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to translate complex concepts into terms and format appropriate for the audience
- Must demonstrate high level of interpersonal skills with ability to work well under pressure and problem solve across a variety of business processes
- Able to balance competing priorities, complex situations, and tight deadlines. Strong emphasis on organizational skills and attention to detail.
