General Summary: This position is responsible for developing a product line representative of the brand.
Major Responsibilities:
- Source and choose materials (leather, fabric, ornamentation etc..) for samples.
- Present sample as envisioned.
- Special projects as needed
- Job duties are widely diverse, and frequently require conceptualizing, planning and implementing
- Continually identify and engage emerging companies/potential partners and suppliers
- Continually scan and assess competitive and consumer landscape to develop future-forward strategies around emerging materials
- Knowledge of aparel market and competition
- Must have experience working directly with a designer or designers in the development of wovens, denim, leather etc..
- Must have worked across all categories
- Existing relationships with overseas apparel factories
- Excellent communication skills (written & verbal) and organisational skills
- Responsible of the life cycle of product from start to finish
- “Think outside the box” breaking from traditional supply chain practices when needed and demonstrating ability to challenge the status quo and drive a cradle-to-cradle circular mindset

- Minimum 3-5 years work experience in accessories, apparel, handbags or adjacent consumer goods industry
- Sharp business acumen, strategic thinking, and analytical skills; proven ability to deliver on program KPIs and ROI goals

- Collaborate with the Design Team to conduct in-depth research on current trends, market insights, and competitive analysis within the contemporary fashion landscape.
- Establish and maintain an efficient fabric and trim library, ensuring accessibility and organization.
- Refine and enhance sketches and line sheets as needed to meet design objectives and standards.
- Oversee all fabric and trim research, managing communication with overseas vendors to ensure effective sourcing.
- Monitor and manage sample request charts, ensuring timely shipping and delivery.
- Contribute to editing relevant prints whenever necessary.
- Coordinate and arrange all necessary components for presentations, demonstrating a keen eye for detail and aesthetic appeal.
- Demonstrate a sense of urgency in managing requests, deadlines, and workload efficiently.
- Cultivate a strong eye for trend imagery, research, and color forecasting, aligned with a contemporary design aesthetic.
- Facilitate communication with overseas teams concerning product development, prototypes, and sample creation.
- Coordinate the ordering and returning of samples as required.
Skills and Requirements:
- 3+ years of demonstrated experience in apparel design.

- Strong Photoshop and InDesign skills; working knowledge of other current design applications
- Some experience with Ai (Illustrator) and Premiere and After Effects

- Ability to effectively communicate with business partners at all levels

- Degree in fashion design or merchandising or related field strongly preferred.
- Three or more (3+) years of experience working in product development, merchandising, direct sourcing, or apparel/textile design role.
- Strong analytical abilities, focused on research, compilation, and interpretation of data.
- Background in compiling data, creating reports, and analyzing and presenting information in a professional format.
- Adaptable and flexible to change, new ideas, and innovative approaches.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with management and co-workers.
