Position Overview:
Alterman, Inc. is currently seeking a Industrial Project Manager for our Industrial Division in Anthony, NM. The Project Manager will primarily focus on Water/Wastewater and Industrial projects. The Project Manager has the ultimate responsibility for all assigned projects and customer accounts. Additionally, the Project Manager accepts final responsibility and accountability for the execution of all project contracts or customer accounts as assigned by Alterman. These tasks are to be carried out at the lowest cost, safely, and at the highest quality consistent with contract requirements and good business practices.
Responsibilities:
- Manage small to mid-sized projects, sometimes multiple projects at various stages, overseeing projects from pre-construction to closeout in accordance with Alterman procedures and policies.
- Analyze blueprints/ specifications, review proposals and project requirements. Work with PM Assistant to secure required permits/utility services and submittal compilation.
- Work in conjunction with Pre-construction and Project Support group to take a proactive approach to project planning in order to maximize profit opportunities.
- In coordination with Purchasing timely procure and coordinate delivery of appropriate materials to the project while achieving the project material budgets.
- Coordinate with the Director of Manpower to plan project labor and achieve the project labor budget.
- Plan regular jobsite walkthroughs to monitor project productivity and create accurate job cost projections.
- Prepare and track change orders and maintain positive cash flow through appropriate billings and collections for each project assigned.
- Ensure long term customer / account satisfaction and grow revenue and opportunities with assigned accounts.
- Take ownership and responsibility for all assigned accounts, to include profit and loss responsibility.
Qualifications:
- Industrial Electrical project experience
- Graduate of the JATC program or similar / equivalent, along with 6 years of experience working and studying in the electrical construction industry.
- 2 years’ experience in a field supervisory position
- 3 years’ experience in a project management position, including estimating and project engineering, along with inside control assignments.
- Proficient computer skills with all basic office programs (Excel, Outlook, and Word) and the ability to learn and use related software and systems required.
