Job description

Reach Edmonton is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as an Assistant Project Manager. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects aimed at improving the lives of individuals and communities in Edmonton. You will collaborate with a dedicated team to plan, implement, and evaluate initiatives that address social issues and drive positive change.

As an Assistant Project Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting the overall project management process. You will assist in coordinating project activities, monitoring progress, and ensuring that deliverables are completed on time and within budget. You will also collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements, track project milestones, and provide regular updates to the project team and key stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the coordination and execution of project activities, ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives.
  • Support the project team in developing project plans, including defining scope, resources, and timelines.
  • Monitor project progress and identify any potential risks or issues that may impact project delivery.
  • Assist in gathering and documenting project requirements from stakeholders and ensure they are accurately reflected in project plans and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Track project milestones and deliverables, and provide regular updates to the project team and key stakeholders.
  • Assist in preparing project status reports and presentations for senior management and key stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in project management, business administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in project coordination or management.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in project management software and tools.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Must thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of community development or social issues is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and project timelines.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
