Position Title: Project Manager

Overview:
The Project Manager plays a pivotal role in the planning, execution, and completion of projects within specified timelines and budgets. This position is specifically tailored for the Accessibility Program within the Colorado Department of Corrections (DOC). The ideal candidate will possess experience in public safety, law enforcement, and/or have a military background, given the nature of the assignment. Please note that candidates will undergo an additional background check through DOC.
Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Execution:
- Develop comprehensive project plans outlining tasks, resources, and timelines.
- Execute project plans efficiently, ensuring adherence to defined schedules and budgets.
- Engage with stakeholders, including business and end users, to solicit input and ensure their needs are addressed.
- Resource Management:
- Coordinate project tasks, resources, and deliverables, including State personnel and external vendors.
- Utilize appropriate project management tools, reports, and templates to facilitate efficient resource allocation.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Foster collaboration among agency executive management, division directors, IT staff, and other stakeholders.
- Facilitate communication between agency staff, vendors, and relevant state agencies to fulfill project requirements.
- Best Practices Implementation:
- Apply project management best practices, including risk management, quality management, change management, and communication strategies.
- Ensure compliance with the State’s project management policies and standards, leading efforts to uphold these guidelines within the agency.
- Leadership and Support:
- Provide leadership, supervision, training, and guidance to IT project team members.
- Offer support and mentorship to team members, fostering a productive and collaborative work environment.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in project management, particularly in public safety, law enforcement, or military contexts.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience managing resources, including personnel and vendors, to achieve project objectives.
- Knowledge of project management best practices, including risk management, quality management, and change management.
- Ability to ensure compliance with project management policies and standards set by the State.

Pay: $41.00 - $59.00 per hour
