Job Description-
The Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT), The Secretary’s Office (TSO), Office of
Transportation Technology (OTTS) is recruiting for a Technical Project Manager who will play a pivotal role in overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of critical projects aimed at enhancing Maryland's transportation systems. The candidate will work alongside a dedicated team of professionals committed to innovation, efficiency, and excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead cross-functional teams to successfully deliver complex technical projects on time and within budget.
Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, resources, and risk management strategies.
Ensure that investments and initiatives in project management services are aligned with business strategy, priorities, security, and compliance.
Identify, assess, and manage project risks, developing mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
Implement quality assurance processes to monitor and evaluate project deliverables.
Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring financial objectives are met and delivered on time.
Define and implement project management methodologies, standards, and best practices.
Collaborate with stakeholders at all levels, including government officials, engineers, contractors, and the public, to ensure project alignment with strategic objectives and community needs.
Monitor project progress, identify potential roadblocks, and implement proactive solutions to keep projects on track.
Maintain accurate documentation and reporting to track project milestones, budget expenditures, and performance metrics.
Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Information Technology, or related field.
Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)
Experience managing technical projects in a government or public-sector environment, with a strong understanding of government regulations and compliance requirements.
Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively motivate teams and build consensus among diverse stakeholders.
Proficiency in project management methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall, with a track record of successful project delivery.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and a results-oriented mindset.
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and successfully collaborate with users, vendors, IT professionals and Subject Matter Experts.
Familiarity with transportation industry standards, technologies, and best practices is desirable.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $40.79 - $66.00 per hour
