Job Description
- Education and Experience: 4-year bachelor’s degree plus 8-years experience in detail-oriented work environment, OR associate’s degree plus 12-years experience in detail-oriented work environment
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Project Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and team members under tight deadlines.
- Master’s degree
- Prior experience in a construction-related field, with handling permits.
- Supervising a team of junior permitting coordinators, who may be working on separate projects each with its own unique set of deliverables and project timeline.
- Calling regulatory officials to verify permitting processes, follow up on status of permit applications, and resolve issues related to permits. Perform research on new permitting processes as needed.
- Scheduling meetings with regulatory officials as needed to address issues related to current and/or future permit submissions.
- Developing and maintaining an electronic Permit Tracker for all permits submitted for projects.
- Identifying potential risks that would cause impacts to the client’s project schedule and working with client and client’s contractors and consultants to develop solutions to eliminate or mitigate risk.
- Responding to daily emails and calls from clients.
- Developing materials as needed for client progress calls and/or meetings.
- Providing Senior Project Managers with regular updates regarding permit status on projects and participating in team meetings on a regular basis.
- Gathering supporting documents from clients
- Performing QC on permit application documents from clients
- Filing for permits using the portal/database system for the applicable jurisdiction
- Attending regular meetings and documenting meeting notes
- Coordinating with local government regulators
- Facilitating clear communication between the project team and external parties
- Accurate and detailed daily timekeeping required.
- Timely communication with client during regular business hours (8:00 am – 5:00 pm)
- Must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily with reasonable accommodation.
- Work is generally done sitting, talking, hearing, and typing. Visual acuity to use a keyboard, prepare and analyze data and figures; transcribing, viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
- Must be able to meet with permit regulators at their place of work when needed, providing own transportation.
- Type: Full-time employment
- Hybrid work arrangement: Three (3) days in the office, in Bethesda, MD. Two (2) days of remote work per week.
- Hours: regular business hours, 8:00 am to 5:00 PM (EST).
Compensation and Benefits:
- Annual salary commensurate with experience.
- Salary Range: $ 80,000 - $100,000 /year
