Background
Associated Builders seeks a highly motivated individual to join its Project Management team in San Francisco. This will be an excellent opportunity to learn the ins-and-outs of construction management at a company in operation for more than 40 years.
Compensation
The individual will be compensated up to $29 per hour of work. Hours of work are 8AM – 5PM, Monday through Friday with a one hour unpaid lunch break. Associated Builders follows the holiday schedule of the City and County of San Francisco; holidays are considered days of unpaid leave.
About this Job
The Project Management Assistant will be working in a fast-paced environment as part of an agile team consisting of a technical lead, project manager, estimator, planning/permitting coordinator and accountant.
Key responsibilities the Project Management Assistant will fulfill are as follows:
1. Assist in project workflow specifically with regards (i) invoicing, (ii) payments as well as (iii) preparing basic elements of contracts and change orders.
2. Assist Project Management team in (i) scheduling of crew, (ii) logistics tracking, (iii) fielding estimate requests, (iv) cost estimation, (v) cost management of materials and tools, and (vi) bookkeeping.
3. Serve as Office Manager for the team by (i) providing administrative support, (ii) managing company admin email and phone, (iii) ordering office supplies, and (iv) coordinating with maintenance crew in facilities management.
4. Coordinate updates and information inputs for company website.
Key Competencies
Associated Builders encourages individuals with various professional, vocational and educational backgrounds to apply. While experience in the construction industry is considered an added plus, it is by no means a requirement. More importantly, the individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
A. On-time, responsible and able to take ownership of assigned tasks. When tasks are not clear, able to communicate and willing to learn.
B. Resourceful, problem-solving and solutions-oriented.
C. Detail-oriented and able to stay on top of numeric information.
D. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) a requirement. Depending on need, training in Microsoft Office can be provided.
E. Written and verbal fluency in English a requirement. Working knowledge of Spanish a plus.
For the first three months of employment, the Project Management Assistant will be on a probation period during which performance will be monitored and evaluated. During this probation period, employment will be at will and subject to termination at any point within this probation period.
