As the Project Engineer for Telematics Integration, you will be responsible for evaluating the requirements for the telematics control unit (TCU) and integrating the TCU in the vehicle platform including but not limited to the mechanical, electrical and the CAN inputs to the TCU.
As the platform Engineer In Charge (EIC) for Telematics, you need to have a deep understanding of the automotive EE architecture, AUTOSAR Network management, CAN interfaces, telematics devices and antennas, edge computing, data transfer to backend, OTA updates, connectivity solutions etc.
Your Role:
- Drive cross-functional teams to consolidate detailed requirements and architecture specifications for the TCU spanning communication gateways, over the air (OTA) updates infrastructure to maintain firmware
- Plan, coordinate and execute the platform integration activities for TCU
- Manage supplier activities to ensure on time delivery of hardware and software for platform integration
- Ensure complete requirements and architecture traceability and compliance to industry standards
- Support FMEA and risk assessment
- Lead and/or support troubleshooting of integration issues on bench and vehicles
- Create and update test specifications and plans for laboratory and in-vehicle testing
- Review test cases and guide the vehicle verification and validation team for proper execution of test cases
- Closely collaborate with the development, integration, verification, and validation team to ensure first time right launch of the TCU
- Maintain and manage traceability of requirements and validation results in the requirements management tool
- Document and generate incident reports and tickets to address incompatibility of electronic module configurations
- Take initiatives to bring open issues to a proper closure
- Support for process improvement and inspections
Your Background:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, information technology, telecommunications, automotive engineering, software or comparable
- 5+ years of experience in automotive field
- Experience with wireless technologies 5G, 4G LTE, SIM registration
- Expert knowledge on CAN network, EE architecture, diagnosing and troubleshooting communication issues
- Expert knowledge of tools such as Vector CANalyzer, CANoe, PEAK PCAN, Kvaser CANKing or similar to diagnose and troubleshoot
- Experience with DOORS, Test Management tools for traceability
- Experience with JIRA, confluence and collaboration tools
- Analyzing and documenting data from tests and identifying issues
- Preferably proven track on technical leadership and cross functional team
- Experience with larger OEM Process and procedures
- Strong presentation and communication skills
- 25% travel expected to support the program
