Project Engineer

Fraser Steel is located in Albertville, Minnesota – 20 miles northwest of Minneapolis on I-94 and minutes from major cross-country transportation routes. Our 80,000 square foot design and fabrication facility has over 30 major work centers. In a normal year we produce more than 2,000 unique items. Some 200,000 parts per day roll off these production centers into Fraser Steel’s “grocery store” Logistics staging area.

Our team is currently seeking a full time Project Engineer. The ideal candidate for this position is energetic, analytical minded with a strong background in engineering and a 5S Champion! This individual will be responsible for preparing, scheduling, coordinating and the monitoring of assigned engineering projects, including new product launches. They will be working with the cross-functional development of projects to ensure that through the phases of each new product are within standards and within regulations.

Essential Functions:

• Lead new product launches
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including design, production, quality and logistics to ensure seamless project execution
• Develop project plans outlining the scope, objectives, timelines and resource requirements
• Manage 5S, standard work, set-up reduction, and problem solving/rapid change Kaizen activities
• Other projects and duties as assigned by CEO

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of manufacturing experience preferably tube fabrication or general fabrication
• Engineering Degree or equivalent work experience
• Proficient in project management and project management software and CAD tools
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• 5S and Lean Manufacturing experience
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Pay $60,000-$100,000 per year BOE
